DST60604- Introduction to Fashion Design

 For the fabric manipulation and sampling, I decided to use tulle fabric as my base and cable ties to manipulate flowers of different sizes.  The process of doing those manipulations were quite fast and because i have used glue guns to make those flowers.  however, the flowers were attached onto the fabric by hand sewing everything on the tulle.  Here is the sampling done by using black and white cable ties to create an interesting composition due to the contrasting color of white in the black shade.  ruffles were also included to fill in empty spaces.  the above shows a sample that only have a monotone concept, the the cable ties are black as well as the ruffles. for this particular sample, no ruffles were added, however, I tried to create a composition with different sizes of cable ties, which i was able to achieve by using different lengths of cable ties. 

WEARABLE ART    Definition of Wearable art: Wearable art, also known as art to wear, refers to art pieces in the shape of clothing or jewelry pieces. these pieces are usually handmade, and are produced only once or as very limited series.  SUBJECT MATTER What's  the purpose of a subject matter? According to the Cambridge dictionary, subject matters are things that are being talked, or written about, or used as a piece of art. As a fashion designer, the core for the designer's success highly depends on the subject matter that the designer has chosen to work on.  I believe that anything could be a source of inspiration, any subject matter can be valid, as long as the designer or artist successfully displayed his/her work clearly to the judges and audiences.  SUBJECT MATTER CHOSEN: BEAUTY IN DARKNESS My subject matter for this project is based on a quote, which is ''beauty in darkness".
